Current Residential Trash Disposal Customers
Guidelines designed to help you — and Area Disposal — make the most of your trash and recycling service.
In order to ensure proper disposal of waste, there are some guidelines that must be remembered and adhered to. So, the below mentioned guidelines are designed to assist you and Area Disposal to make the most of trash disposal.
Barrel Pickup Rules
- Make sure to put the barrels out by 6 a.m.
- Area Disposal picks up barrels on all days, including holidays
- BAG & TIE — includes trash & yard trimmings (limbs no more than 4 ft. long)
- Ensure that all lids are properly closed
- Place barrel(s) at least 5 ft. from walls, fences, mailboxes, and other barrels
- Face barrel lid opening towards the street with easy access for safety
- Don’t forget to flatten or fold boxes, so that they can slide out (e.g. pizza boxes)
- Recycle barrel(s) will not be emptied on a regular trash day
- Cactus — “DRY” — bag or box (cactus can be very heavy & can damage barrels)
We provide 95-gallon grey barrels for trash and 95-gallon cobalt blue lid barrels for recycling.

- Newspaper, printing, junk mail, magazines, phone books
- Cardboard boxes & corrugated cardboard (cereal, prepared-food, detergent and packing boxes — flatten or fold for easy removal, remove liners)
- Aluminum cans & tin cans (soda, vegetable, fruit and soup type cans)
- Plastic bottles, jugs & containers (recycle logo 1–7 “only”)
- Glass food & beverage jars & bottles (“only”)
